Police Chief Crassus Mauser

PortraitVibe
  • Large gray cat.
  • Backstory: lost a partner in a chase gone wrong. During his escape, Mauser recovered a piece of evidence (a note? a calling card? an inventory tag or a shipping label? a crate with words painted on it?) linking the seemingly commonplace burglary to a mysterious entity known as The Big Cheese, or perhaps simply to a warehouse by the docks that has some other data attached to it back at HQ which he later connects to the Cheese. Then the trail goes cold: the warehouse is empty, or the data are wrong, or a different gang takes the spotlight for a year, then two… but he never forgets his old pal Louie.

Police Captain Louie

  • Medium orange cat.
  • Night shift beat cop, late partner of Mauser, cheery guy.
  • After his death, rumors of a “ghost cop” begin to spring up around Tidyhole; would-be perpetrators occasionally found stone dead, covered in an inky black substance like tar. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to happen often enough to make much of a dent in the crime rate.
  • Uncle of Magician Cat

Detective Magician Cat

  • Nepotism hire at the Police Station. Works directly under Police Chief Mauser. Highly incompetent at both police work and parlor tricks.
  • Character arc: Wholesome chungus. Exposed to horrors. Becomes the Clockwork Orange guy. Nutty. Bit whacko. Twisted. Police Brutality Enjoyer (post-arc).

The Big Cheese

  • Ominous crime kingpin.
  • Base of operations in the Tidyhole Clock Tower.
  • ALWAYS appears as a silhouette, rat-like, forward-facing, with large bites out of both ears.
  • SPOILERS: ||actually a moose. The “ear bites” are his antlers.||
